PSHE & Transition

We provide a range of drama-based sessions to help with the challenges of growing up. We have years of experience supporting teachers in this 'difficult-to-teach' area and offer some very original ideas for engaging children on topics at both Primary and Secondary level. We offer a choice of sessions which embrace the 'Change4Life' programme, geared towards healthy choices and lifestyle. Our sessions usually combine a short performance with a much more involved workshop session.

Set programmes are as follows but we frequently develop bespoke sessions depending on your particular need:

KS 1 & 2
Anti-bullying and friendships: This programme has been designed to facilitate an interactive exploration of positive relationships. An actor/facilitator will use drama techniques and activities to explore friendship in an engaging, non-threatening way. The group will discover techniques that will support them in building self-esteem and will enjoy using drama and theatre to experiment with self-control, communication, empathy and expression.

'Healthy all over, having fun'

'Dramacise' Junior
This programme aims to engage children in physical exercise, teamwork and co-ordination with a creative focus instead of competitive edge. It can work as a one-off session, or become a regular club over a number of weeks. It combines well with the 'Healthy all over, having fun' workshop.

Smooth Transitions
These innovative sessions are designed to help children gain confidence in taking that first step into 'big school' (KS 1 -2, or KS 2 - 3). Using a variety of techniques and games, we create a happy and comfortable environment for them to work on developing friendships and sharing worries.

KS 3 & 4
Dramacise senior: This programmes shares the same objective as the one for KS1 & 2, but tailored to an older audience. For this age group, and especially those entering into GCSEs at KS4, we introduce a 'focus and relaxation' element.

Sex and Drugs and 'yes' or 'no'?
This programme aims to empower young people to make educated lifestyles choices. An innovative piece of Forum Theatre engages the group in an exploration of activities and experiences carefully scripted to promote thought and debate. The participants will be facilitated in engaging with a dialogue around sexual choices (empowerment to say 'no', contraception, sexual health), drug and alcohol use and human interaction. The young people then participate in practical workshops designed to promote empowerment and positive self-confidence.
